Go Tigers!!!

I have been patiently waiting for the first Clemson game so that I could dress Felix in the adorable onesie that my friend Emily made for him. I loved seeing his precious smile whenever we'd cheer "Go Tigers!" Can't wait to take him to Clemson someday soon!

And to teach him how to be a good sport, and since Clemson wasn't playing on Thursday, I dressed him in his Carolina outfit from my friend Rosie. I'll admit, he does look pretty good in it too...maybe it's the tie!

Escape from the City!

Two weekends ago, Chris and I took Felix on his first venture out of the five boroughs. Several friends of ours rented a house in East Hampton and graciously asked if we'd like to join them for the weekend. It was so nice to be able to spend a weekend away and relax. Felix had a great time cooling in by the the shade!

Zac or Felix?!

While Chris's mom and sister were visiting, we compared baby pictures of his siblings with Felix's baby pictures and discovered an uncanny resemblance between Zac and Felix. Chris has even caught himself calling Felix "Zac" every now and then!

Two Months

At Felix's two month appointment he weighed a whopping 11 lbs 5 oz and measured 23.3 inches long! The two month appointment is also when babies get their first round of vaccinations. Poor Felix had a fever as a result and produced his first ever tears (talk about breaking my heart), but he was a champ and was back to normal in no time.

Grandma and Aunt Sarah Visit!

In late July, Chris's mom and younger sister Sarah came to visit and meet Felix. They came at the perfect time because Felix was just starting to become more alert and even show some smiles. We rented an apartment for them through Air BnB which worked out really well.

Felix meeting Grandma and Aunt Sarah

During their visit, Felix attended his first concert! We set up a picnic for the Barenaked Ladies/Guster/Ben Folds Five concert in Prospect Park.

Felix enjoyed singing Disney tunes with Aunt Sarah! And we were SO grateful that she was eager to cut his nails (cutting a newborn's nails is a terrifying task)!

Susan and Sarah were able to enjoy the city while they were here too, including walking the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise and seeing Wicked. On their last night here, Chris and Felix had guy time while the girls went to The Newsies on Broadway. I loved every minute of it!

While babysitting for Chris and I (which was amazing) they were able to capture one of my favorite things about Felix as a newborn. All newborns have the startle reflex which causes them to throw their hands up in the air. I love how quickly Felix flings his arms in the air - and how slowly he brings them down again. Now that he's older and has more control, this is one of the things I miss about him being "little."

One Month

I am super late in posting Felix's one month milestone, but better late than never. I can't believe how much he changed in such a short time. At his one month check-up he weighed 9 pounds and measured almost 21 inches long.

One of my favorite things is the way that Felix sneezes. Nearly every time, he brings his two little hands up by his face. I was finally able to capture it on video:

Memama and Aunt Gwynn Visit

When Felix was about 3 weeks old, my Aunt Gwynn and grandmother Memama drove up from South Carolina to visit. It was so special for Felix to be able to meet his aunt and great grandmother. I was happy to be able to show Memama around Brooklyn a bit too!
